Gujarat Titans allrounder Vijay Shankar, on Saturday (April 22), failed to score big in the ongoing game IPL 2023 against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow. The in-form allrounder was castled by Lucknow’s Afghan star Naveen-ul-Haq.

Vijay Shankar walked out to bat in the 12th over when Gujarat were scoring just over 6 runs per over. They were on 77 for 3 in 11.4 overs when the right-handed batsman walked out to bat after Abhinav Manohar’s dismissal. The onus was on him to play some big shots and give the innings some much-needed momentum.

Shankar, however, found the going tough and eventually the pressure got the better of him. He lost his wicket while trying to play a big shot in the 15th over. After scoring only 10 runs off the first 11 balls he faced, Shankar went for a wild shot across the line and paid the price for it.

Naveen-ul-Haq bowled a delivery that was angled in and Shankar ended up playing across the line. He missed the ball completely and was clean-bowled.

Talking about the game, Gujarat Titans were on 124 for 4 in the 19th over at the time of writing this report. Skipper Hardik Pandya was batting on 60 and David Warner was giving him company on 3 off 9 balls. Both the batsmen will be hoping to play some big shots and guide their team to a good total.
