Mumbai Indians are all set to take part in IPL 2023 auction and strengthen their squad with a few more mighty players. IPL 2023 auction takes place on December 23. The venue of the event is Kochi in Kerala.

Mumbai Indians have retained 16 players in their squad ahead of the auction. Out of which, there are 11 domestic players and 5 overseas players. The five-time IPL champions also released 13 players from their squad. MI traded 1 player into their squad in the form of Jason Behrendorff.

Some of the key domestic players that MI has retained in their squad are Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav. Some powerful overseas players retained by the team are Dewald Brevis, Jofra Archer, and Tim David.

Mumbai Indians gave a poor show in IPL 2022 last season finishing in the last spot in the points table. The Rohit Sharma-led side won 10 games and lost 4 out of 14.
