Punjab Kings (PBKS) are all set to lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Mohali on 20th April (*Thursday). This is the third match at IPS Bindra Stadium, PBKS have won 1 & lost 1 and it is assumed that the track would be a belter.

RCB have lost 2 back to back matches and are languishing in the 8th position in the points table with 2 wins from 5 matches. RCB need someone in the middle order like Dinesh Karthik to take responsibility in the crunch moments of the game.

PBKS on the other hand would back themselves to create some panic in RCB’s camp after winning against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). All eyes would be on Liam Livingstone as he is fit and available for selection and he can contribute in all the 3 facets of the game.

“We will bowl first, did well in the last game and we’ll take some confidence, conditions will not change a lot. Shikhar is getting closer, but he’ll miss out today. He’s a quality player, but the younger lot will have to shape up, Liam Livingstone is back and we have Nathan Ellis back in place of KG Rabada,” said Sam Curran.

RCB stand-in skipper Virat Kohli stated that Faf du Plessis would play as an impact player and won’t field due to an injury. Virat Kohli pointed out that they wanted to bat first and post a big score on the board. Virat Kohli wasn’t looking forward to the tournament and wanted to take one game at a time.

“Faf potentially can’t be fielding today, so he will be playing as an impact player , switching with Vyshak. We got to do what we wanted, we would have batted first, the pitch could get slow, some scruff marks will help the bowlers going deep into the game. Taking one game at a time, focusing on our own game, make the most of crunch situations, we haven’t done that so far in the tournament. No other changes for us.” said Virat Kohli.
