Aiden Markram, on Friday (May 4), added yet another stunning catch to his ever-increasing list of outstanding catches on the cricket field. The Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper took the catch off his own bowling during the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Batting first, the Knight Riders were off to a disastrous start as they lost 3 wickets inside the powerplay. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed by Marco Jansen for a golden duck while Venkatesh Iyer (7) and Jason Roy (20) also departed quickly to leave KKR reeling at 35 for 3 in the 5th over.

Skipper Nitish Rana and in-form batsman Rinku Singh then steadied the ship and started laying the foundation for a good total. But before the duo could bat KKR to a strong position, Aiden Markram struck to give his team a much-needed and huge breakthrough.

Aiden Markram dismisses Nitish Rana:

Nitish Rana was looking set to score a fine fifty against SRH after rescuing his team following the disastrous start. The southpaw was looking in fine touch and had already hit three fours and three sixes before departing.

His hopes of capitalizing on the start and scoring big were dashed by his SRH counterpart’s breathtaking effort on the field. On the second ball of the 12th over, Aiden Markram bowled a slower delivery just outside off. The ball turned away and Rana went for a slog-sweep. He, however, ended up top-edging the ball.

But it still looked like Rana would survive as the ball was looking set to fall in the no man’s land. However, Aiden Markram had other ideas. The SRH star called for the catch and ran almost to the long-on before making a stunning full-length dive to complete the catch with both hands. It is without a doubt one of the best catches of the ongoing competition.
