AB de Villiers slammed by former Indian cricketer while praising Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav yet again showed his beast mode during the 25th game of the ongoing IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday, April 11.

Playing only his second game in the ongoing IPL 2024 after a long injury layoff, Suryakumar showed an extraordinary display of power-hitting and perfect timing against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The 33-year-old batter effortlessly dispatched the RCB bowlers to all corners of the field, and it was an absolute treat to watch him do the same for the fans.

With his 360-degree range of shot-making, Suryakumar played an unbelievable inning to help MI chase down the daunting 197-run target set by RCB with extreme ease at the Wankhede Stadium.

His aggressive approach and innovative shot selection left the RCB bowlers confused with their plans. In a breathtaking inning, the Indian batter scored a blistering 52 runs off just 19 deliveries, laced with 5 fours and 4 sixes against the RCB. It was Suryakumar’s fastest fifty in the IPL.

After Suryakumar’s blistering innings helped the Mumbai Indians (MI) chase down a 197-run target in 15.3 overs against the RCB, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh showered rich praise on the batter.

Harbhajan has not only compared Surya with the legendary AB de Villiers but even said that the MI star is a better version of the original Mr. 360-degree.

Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports: “I have never seen someone dominating like the way Suryakumar does. Unbelievable. Where do you bowl to him? I am so glad I am not playing cricket now. At this age, where do you bowl to this guy?

He has got an answer for every ball you bowl to him, whether it's wide yorker, bouncer. He can play sweep, pull, upper cut and I don't what else he can play. He is a different kind of a player.”

Suryakumar’s remarkable ability to adapt to various match situations and execute unconventional shots with precision makes him a nightmare for the bowlers. His comeback, even in such a dangerous mode, is great news for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Harbhajan signed off by saying, “Suryakumar is in a different league. When Suryakumar Yadav shines, no one can survive. We have all seen AB de Villiers, unbelievable player! But when I see this guy, I think he is a better version of AB de Villiers.

He has won more number of games for his franchise than anyone playing now in this format. If I was part of any team, he would be my first pick, if he comes in the auction. But it's never going to happen.”
