Aiden Markram Out!! Travis Head Undecided? Best SRH Playing 11 for IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) broke the bank for several players in the IPL 2024 auction. Travis Headm Wanindu Hasaranga and Pat Cummins were three of the big names who were added to the squad.

The SRH management further have named Pat Cummins as the skipper of the side for the upcoming season. Cummins’s success in international cricket with Australis seems to be the reason behind this thinking by the management.

SRH have a problem of plenty in terms of figuring out their best possible playing XI and incorporating the best four foreigners within the XI. The overall squad also looks good. However, they have a few inexperienced Indian players in their ranks as well.

SRH finished last in IPL 2023 and have not shown a great deal of consistency since their title-winning season in 2016. In this article, we predict SRH’s best XI in IPL 2024.

Travis Head

Head will open the batting for SRH. The franchise bagged him for nearly 7 crores in the IPL 2024 auction and would like to use his batting potential up at the top. Head was part of Australia’s WTC and World Cup-winning squads.

Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek will open the batting with Head. The two southpaws can give the team an ideal start. He scored over 400 runs in IPL 2022 and had a dip last season scoring only 226 runs.

Rahul Tripathi

Tripathi will slot in at three. He is another Indian batter who can switch up and down the batting order. He scored 413 runs last season and 273 runs last season with just one fifty-plus score.

Heinrich Klaasen (WK)

Abdul Samad

Samad can slot in at five. The Jammu cricketer was retained ahead of IPL 2024 as the franchise trusted his big-hitting skills. He played a few cameos last season but should make the most of this season. He scored 1269 runs last season at a strike rate of 132.03.

Washington Sundar

Sundar can bat at six and add to the batting depth of SRH. He is also a good-quality off-spinner and can perform the role of an all-rounder. SRH needs to give him regular games this season.

Pat Cummins (C)

Cummins will lead SRH in this season. He was picked up for a whopping 20.75 crores. He played for KKR for two seasons but not with much success. He will have a big challenge facing him ahead of this season.

Wanindu Hasaranga

SRH roped in Hasaranga for just 1.50 crores and he was a steal. The Lankan leggie made a good impact for RCB picking up 26 wickets in IPL 2022. He picked up nine wickets last season but still RCB decided to release him.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Umran Malik

SRH would like to use Umran Malik in the XI. He picked up 22 wickets in IPL 2022 and just five next season. He played a few international games in 2022 and has not played throughout 2023.

T Natarajan

Natarajan is likely to be included in SRH’s best XI. His left-arm angle provides the ultimate variation to the SRH bowling lineup which is among the best in this season. He picked 10 wickets last season.

Impact Sub-Mayank Agarwal

With SRH’s bowling lineup sorted if all the above bowlers are part of the XI, Mayank Agarwal becomes a good impact sub option as a top-order batter. Agarwal is out of the Indian team at the moment and might use the opportunity to make a comeback.
