"Bol nahi sakta jayda cheeze..." - Virat Kohli's intriguing revelation on Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan's friendship

India batting stalwart Virat Kohli, in a recent interaction in front of his fans with Gaurav Kapur, admitted that Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan are best of friends and that the duo cannot be separated.

Highlighting their bonding in the Indian national team, Kohli claimed that Kishan and Gill always stay together when the team goes out on a foreign tour, be it sharing the same hotel room, during lunch or dinner time, or even when there's a discussion in place.

"Bahut funny hain, Sita aur Geeta (Ishan and Shubman). I have no clue what's going on either. Can't say much but these guy can't stay alone during tours. If we got out for food, they will come together. During discussions as well, they are always together. I haven't seen them alone. They are great friends," Kohli said at an event.

But even before Virat Kohli made this revelation, it was no secret that Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill share a very good friendship. On numerous occasions, we have seen the duo be with each other during various net sessions. It is always fun to watch whenever Gill meets Kishan. They always come up with some uncanny activity and are mostly seen playing along with each other. Very recently, they met each other at the Narendra Modi stadium when the Mumbai Indians faced Gujarat Titans on 24th March.

Both the teams were playing their first match of the 2024 IPL season and it was a heated one, not for the players but for the crowd since Hardik Pandya, who left GT for MI last year, was returning to his former home ground. After Gujarat defeated Mumbai by just 6 runs, Shubman Gill was seen spending some time with Ishan Kishan amid the post-match presentation party. Gill and Kishan were joined by Pandya and moments later, BCCI honorable secretary Jay Shah had also joined their conversation.

Jay Shah was specifically talking to Ishan Kishan after the BCCI had left him out of the central contract list along with middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer. Shah was seen smiling and giving some suggestions to Kishan, who appeared to be a little attentive in front of him.

Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan might be best of friends but the duo have experienced a contrasting career graph. Gill made his debut (2020) one year before Kishan was given an opportunity by the Indian selectors. Both of them are top-order batters and are seen opening the innings for their respective IPL franchises but it was Gill who made the most out of the opportunities he got. But the same can be said on Kishan's matter as well but it's just that he hasn't got that type of backing from the team management despite scoring a double hundred.

Luck might also had its say on Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan and it would be fair to say that the former has been a bit more lucky than his best friend. It can also be said that Kishan, who has a very aggressive style of play, might not be a great character in the dressing room as playing good cricket alone won't help someone rise to the top, behavior, attitude, and discipline also matters a lot, regardless of the field.
