The DC vs KKR IPL 2024 match will be played in Vizag on Wednesday, April 3. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST and is the second and final game for the Delhi Capitals at the venue. DC have won the last three games against KKR.

Delhi Capitals beat CSK in their previous game and bagged their first win of the season. Meanwhile, KKR have won their first two games against SRH and RCB.

After two back-to-back losses against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals bagged their first win of the season against CSK. They posted a daunting total of 191 and their bowlers backed up their batters with a brilliant bowling display restricting the CSK batters from casing down the target. 

They got the team combination perfect by bringing in Prithvi Shaw who made an immediate impact. His 91-run stand with David Warner set it up for the Capitals and they did not look back. Against Dc, the ikes of Warner, Shaw have a good batting record. With the ball, Kuldeep Yadav has a good record against KKR in the last few seasons and he should come back into the XI. 

Kolkata Knight Riders 

They were lucky to win the first game but came back strongly in the match against RCB. They chased down 183 against them with overs to spare and the win boosted their NRR. They are still on the move playing away from home and this is another important match for the KKR side.

They have lost the last three games against Delhi Capitals. 221 in Sharjah was the last time they won against DC. They will need proper planning and implementation if they are to keep their winning run this season.

Pitch Conditions 

From what we saw in the last match, the itch in Vizag is a high-scoring venue. DC posted 191 batting first and a score of around 200 batting first should be par on this wicket. Bowlers do have true pace and bounce on this pitch if they hit the right areas as shown by the DC bowlers as well. Axar Patel bowled well on this wicket and DC might bring in Kuldeep Yadav given his track record against KKR. 

Form and Fitness

KKR also named a few replacements roping in Dusmantha Chameera for Gus Atkinson and Phil Salt for Jason Roy after he pulled out due to personal reasons.  For KKR, Nitish Rana missed the previous match with a finger injury. It will be interesting to see if he returns in the next match. There are no injury concerns as of now with DC.

Tactical Acumen

Rishabh Pant used his bowlers brilliantly throughout the CSK batting effort. He will look to repeat the same. e should include Kuldeep Yadav who has already picked up 10 wickets against KKR since joining DC.

Shreyas Iyer also used his bowlers pretty well based on the conditions in Bengaluru bowling cutters and slower deliveries. In Vizag, where the pitch has more bounce and carry, he needs to rotate his bowlers well. He did not use Suyash Sharma in the last match and should use him against the DC’s big hitters.
