Delhi Capitals takes on Lucknow Super Giants in match 26 of IPL 2024 on Friday, April 26. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST with DC up against it. The Capitals are yet to win against LSG in the IPL losing all three previous games. Let's take a look at Delhi Capitals' Playing 11 vs LSG for match 26 of IPL 2024.

LSG defeated DC once in IPL 2022 and twice in IPL 2023. The side is heading into this game after back-to-back defeats against KKR and Mumbai Indians. Their bowlers took a beating in these two games conceding 272 runs against the Knight Riders and 235 against Mumbai.

They will be playing on a completely different track from what they played in their last two games. For this game, their most important bowler who could have been a handful in these conditions is nursing a groin injury. Alongside him, there are reports of Mitchell Marsh likely to be ruled out for a week with a hamstring injury.

Delhi Capitals are among the three original teams not to have won the IPL yet. Every year they come with good players but somehow underperform. They played the IPL 2020 final but then the form of the franchise dipped in many ways. They are still looking to find consistency.

Delhi Capitals Playing 11 vs LSG- IPL 2024, Match 26

Prithvi Shaw

Shaw scored 66 in the previous game against Mumbai Indians. He scored a quickfire 43 against CSK and just 10 against KKR. The half-century should stand him in good stead heading into this match. He did not play the first two games.

David Warner

Warner will open the batting with Shaw. He has already scored 152 runs in the season so far with one fifty-plus score. Warner as always is key to Delhi's hopes this season.

Rishabh Pant (C/WK)

With Mitchell Marsh likely to be ruled out for a week, Pant can slot in at three and bat up the order. He has already scored two fifties and looked good with the bat.

Abishek Porel

Porel has been used more often as an Impact Player by Delhi Capitals However, he can be given a chance in the playing XI. He has played a few good cameos for the side including a 41 off 31 balls against MI.

Tristan Stubbs

Stubbs has batted at a strike rate of 193 so far in the season scoring 174 runs in five games including a 71 off 25 balls against Mumbai Indians. He has often run out of partners.

Axar Patel

Patel will slot in at six. He has batted well for DC in the past but has not gone so far this season. He has scored just 51 runs this season so far and picked up five wickets.

Lalit Yadav / Kuldeep Yadav

DC will need at least two spinners on the Ekana pitch and hence they can look towards Lalit Yadav. However, if Kuldeep Yadav gets fit he should feature in the XI. He picked up three wickets in the first two games he played.

Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed will be one of the two Indian pacers in the side. He has picked up seven wickets from five games and was unplayable in the match against CSK. He will play his 49th game in the IPL next game.

Ishant Sharma

The veteran Indian pacer will be the other Indian seamer in the XI. He has played in the last two matches and has gone for plenty. However, his dismissal of Andre Russell against KKR is the impact he made with the ball.

Jhye Richarson / Lizaad Williams

Richardson played the last game and gave away 40 runs in four overs without a wicket. If Williams is available for this game, he should be chosen over the Australian pacer.

Anrich Nortje

Nortje concludes the likely XI for Delhi Capitals against Lucnow Super Giants. He has picked six wickets in the four games that he played so far. He missed the first game for DC. He is one shy of 50 IPL wickets for the Capitals.

Impact Sub: Yash Dhull / Mukesh Kumar

As per the match scenario, Delhi can use either Yas Dhull or Mukesh Kumar as the Impact Sub. He was good with his death bowling skills against CSK and hence if the need arises he can be used.
