Delhi Capitals take on Rajasthan Royals in match 9 of IPL 2024 in Jaipur on Thursday, March 28. Delhi lost their season opener against Punjab Kings and are looking to come back to winning ways.

Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals have played 27 games over the years in the IPL and have a very even contest. Delhi won 13 games while the Royals. This is their second away game of the season.

Delhi Capitals have not been a consistent team over the years in the IPL and have started the season with a loss. They finished the season ninth on the points table last season winning five and losing nine games.

Rishabh Pant has taken up captaincy again as he has returned back to competitive cricket and has found the going tough in the first game. He scored 18 off 13 balls with the ball on his return.

The bowling lineup has been bolstered by the return of Anrich Nortje who was out of the game with a back injury. He was out of the game since September 2023 and missed the World Cup for South Africa as well.

David Warner will open the batting for the Capitals. Despite his team finishing ninth in the season, Warner scored over 500 runs in the season. He scored 29 in the first game for the Capitals.

Mitchell Marsh

Mitchell Marsh will open the batting with Warner. He scored 20 off 12 balls. March will lead Australia in the upcoming T20 World Cup and hence needs to have a good IPL season.

Rishabh Pant (C/WK)

Pant can slot in at three. The skipper scored 18 off 13 balls in the first game. This is the 100th game for Delhi Capitals for Rishabh Pant. The southpaw will be looking for a big season.

Tristan Stubbs

Stubbs can bat at number four as the Capitals might leave out Shai Hope and replace him with Anrich Nortje in the XI. Stubbs has made his reputation being a hard-hitter in the format and batting at five, he might need to score runs quickly for the side.

Ricky Bhui

Bhui made a comeback into the IPL in the last match as Delhi Capitals roped him in the auction. He scored over 800 runs in the recent Ranji Trophy season for Andhra. However, he scored just three in the first game.

Axar Patel

Axar Patel can slot in at six. For Delhi to have a successful season, Axar Patel needs to have a good all-round season. He has scored 753 runs for SC and picked up 51 wickets.

Abishek Porel

Porel can be brought into the XI for the Capitals against RR. He scored 32 off 10 balls against Punjab Kings as the Impact Sub. However, he can be a good addition lower down the order.

Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav can bat at eight. He played some good knocks in the Test series against England. However, his real job is with the ball. He took two for 30 in the last game.

Ishant Sharma

Ishant will be one of the two Indian pacers in the XI. The veteran Indian pacer was retained ahead of IPL 2024 but had an ankle injury in the first game. However, he should be back into the playing XI.

Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel will be the third Indian seamer in the XI. He picked up 4 / 43 in the last game. Overall, he has picked up 59 wickets in 44 IPL matches. He has taken 27 wickets in 20 matches for the Capitals.

Anrich Nortje

Nortje concludes the likely DC XI for their match against the Royals. He is making a comeback after an injury layoff. He has taken 53 wickets in 40 matches for Delhi Capitals. He missed the first game.

Depending on the match situation, either Shaw or Mukesh Kumar can be the Impact Player for Delhi Capitals. Abishek Porel was the impact player in the first game.
