Chris Gayle has predicted Royal Challengers Bengaluru will beat Chennai Super Kings in their final league game of IPL 2024 even though the Bengaluru-based outfit suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the defending champions in the tournament-opener last week.

The BCCI, on Monday (March 25), announced the remainder of the IPL 2024 schedule. According to the full schedule, RCB will be locking horns against CSK in their final league game on May 18. The game could very well decide RCB’s fate in the ongoing competition. Over the years, one has seen how costly a defeat in the final phase of the league stage could prove and RCB could very well bow out of IPL 2024 if they lose against CSK.

Chris Gayle’s prediction:

While only time will who comes out on top, Chris Gayle is confident his former team would be able to get the better of the reigning champions during the second meeting between the two teams in the ongoing season. Speaking on JioCinema, the former RCB opener said that he cannot see CSK winning against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

“Always one of the biggest games of the IPL. I know it is RCB’s last game of the IPL 2024 season. We don’t want to be looking too ahead but I don’t see CSK beating RCB at home. It doesn’t matter what the circumstances are. I see RCB coming out on top on May 18,” said Chris Gayle.

Talking about the first game between CSK and RCB in IPL 2024, the Chennai-based outfit won the game by six wickets. Batting first, RCB were reeling at 78 for 5 at one stage before Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik’s 95-run stand helped them finish with a competitive total of 173/6.

However, the score did not turn out to be a winning one. In fact, CSK hardly looked in any sort of trouble during the chase. They eventually crossed the finishing line in the 19th over by losing just four wickets. Meanwhile, RCB will take on Punjab Kings in their second game while CSK will be up against Gujarat Titans.
