Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins gave his take on fans booing Hardik Pandya in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. He also opened up about Royal Challengers Bengaluru Virat Kohli's strike rate despite scoring a century against Rajasthan Royals.

Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya hasn't received a great welcome from the fans in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Taking over the leadership of the franchise hasn't gone well with fans as they have been booing him whenever he comes to bat or takes the field or during toss time.

One of the games in which Hardik Pandya was booed a lot was against the Pat Cummins-led side in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The all-rounder was greeted with "Rohit Rohit" chants. Also, he failed to make a mark as captain of the team.

Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians conceded the highest-ever total in the history of the league. They were smashed by Sunrisers Hyderabad batters all over the park as the home team ended with a massive total of 277 runs on the board.

Pat Cummins, who has been doing a decent job as a captain of the team in the IPL 2024, in an exclusive interview with Sports Tak was asked about the situation of Hardik Pandya. He, however, believes that it's a tricky situation but doesn't have much to say about that. He stated:

“I don't really have much to say to be honest. I have not been in that situation. It is a really tricky situation. Fans here in India are super passionate. I am sure it is just a phase. That's about all I have thought."

Pat Cummins was also asked about Virat Kohli's century against Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League game. The batter registered the slowest century in the history of the league as he achieved the milestone in 67 balls. But his innings went in vain as RCB lost the game.

Virat Kohli even though hit a magnificent century under pressure but he was criticised a lot for his slow strike rate in the game. Pat Cummins didn't opt to comment on that either and stated: “I don't have anything to say on that either."

Maybe Abhishek Sharma is the guy for me - Pat Cummins on India including the new guy in the team for the T20 World Cup 2024

Pat Cummins was also asked to pick a player that India might select in the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The SRH skipper went with his teammate Abhishek Sharma, saying that the all-rounder plays both pace as well as spin better. He elaborated:

“Maybe Abhishek Sharma is the guy for me. (He plays) top of the order, plays pace bowling but particularly spin bowling really well. He takes the game on."

Abhishek Sharma has been magnificent in the IPL 2024 and has set the stage on fire. The all-rounder has scored 134 runs from four innings at a strike rate of 217.57. His best came in the game against Mumbai Indians, where he slammed 62 runs.
