Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) squared off with each other in the 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Lucknow Super Giants opened their account in the IPL 2024 as they made a terrific comeback in the game after being down. They thumped the Punjab Kings by the margin of 21 runs and handed the Punjab Kings-led side their second straight loss of the season.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won the toss and opted to bat first at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. They didn’t have a great start with the bat as they lost impact player KL Rahul early for 15 runs and then Devdutt Padikkal (9) fell early as well.
Lucknow Super Giants was left tottering at 45/2 and it was then when Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis counter-attacked but it didn’t last long as the Australian all-rounder was removed by Rahul Chahar for 19, which saw hosts tumbling at 78/3.
Quinton de Kock (54) slammed a vital half-century for his team and made sure he brought his team back into the game. He added 47 runs with Nicholas Pooran (42) as the duo put Punjab Kings bowlers under pressure at their home ground in Lucknow.
After they lost their wickets, Kunal Pandya played a brutal cameo and made sure he took his team to the big total. The all-rounder took beaten 43 runs off 22 balls with the help of four boundaries and 2 sixes. His innings powered Lucknow Super Giants to a total of 199 runs on the board.
For Punjab Kings, Sam Curran was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/28. Apart from him, Arshdeep Singh picked two wickets whereas Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar also contributed with one wicket each under their belt at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Punjab Kings were off to a brutal start in their innings, thanks to the heroics of Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow. The duo took Lucknow Super Giants bowlers to cleaners and smashed them all over the park, adding 102 runs for the opening wicket.
However, the introduction of Mayank Yadav changed the fortunes of the Punjab Kings. He breathed fire with the ball and removed Jonny Bairstow for 42 runs, Prabhsimran Singh for 19 runs, and then Jitesh Sharma (6) reduced Lucknow Super Giants to 139/3.

Shikhar Dhawan too succumbed to pressure as he fell for 70 runs. Mohsin Khan removed him and on the next ball removed Sam Curran as well. Lucknow then changed the game completely in their favor and sealed the game from losing position.
Liam Livingstone (28*) tried his best in the end but the target was too much for Punjab to chase. They managed just 178 runs and lost the game by 21 runs.
