Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) locked horns with each other in the 25th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The game between the two teams took place on Thursday (11th April) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai Indians are well and truly back in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. After facing three consecutive losses, the Hardik Pandya-led side registered their second win of the season. They thumped Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets to bag important two points.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were asked to bat first in the 25th Match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 in Mumbai. It wasn't a fruitful start for them with the bat. In-form batter Virat Kohli (3) lost his wicket early on and debutant Will Jacks (8) too couldn't get going at all in the match.

Skipper Faf du Plessis (61) and Rajat Patidar (50) then brought their team out of trouble. The duo hit valiant half-centuries and made sure they made up for the early loss in the game. They added 82 runs for the third wicket and put the opposition bowlers under pressure.

However, both lost their wickets after a valiant start. They couldn't carry on as Mumbai Indians bowlers made a terrific comeback. It seemed that would post just above 150 runs on the board. However, that wasn't the case as Dinesh Karthik oozed his class with the bat in the end.

Dinesh Karthik finished the innings on high and made sure that Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a big total on the board. The keeper-batter ended with the innings of an unbeaten 53 runs off 23 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 230 and based on his innings, they posted a total of 196 runs on the board.

For Mumbai Indians, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers. The fast bowler exhibited brilliant silks with the ball and picked a five-wicket haul. Apart from himGeraldad Coetzee, Akash Madhwal and Shreyas Gopal picked one wicket each.

MI vs RCB IPL 2024 Match 25: Mumbai Indians innings: Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav play blistering knocks with bat

Mumbai Indians openers Ishan Kishan (69) and Rohit Sharma (38) came out all guns blazing and made mockery of the opposition. They batted aggressively and took the game from RCB in the powerplay itself. The duo added 101 runs for the opening partnership at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

After that, it was a show of Suryakumar Yadav with the bat. The right-hander came out with a destroying mindset and went from the word go. He slammed a quick-fire half-century and put his team in the winning position, ending with the knock of 52 runs in 19 balls.

In the end, Hardik Pandya (21*) and Tilak Varma (16*) made sure they finished the job and took the team home. Mumbai Indians won the game by the margin of 7 wickets and registered their second win of the tournament.
