Mumbai Indians (MI) takes on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL 2024 match 33 in Mullanpur. This is an away game for them after their previous loss to CSK at home.

Mumbai Indians bowlers had a tough game against Chennai Super Kings in the previous game. They managed to take just four wickets against CSK with the mighty Jasprit Bumrah remaining wicketless.

There were many talking points from the previous loss for Mumbai Indians but nothing more important than Hardik Pandya's captaincy. He chose to bowl himself in the final over against a certain MS Dhoni which went against him as he was taken for 20 runs which proved to be the difference in the end.

Experts have already started giving their opinion about Hardik's captaincy He left the team down with the bat as well when he needed to bat with Rohit Sharma. MI's batting barring Rohit's ton was a disappointment. In this article, we take a look at MI's playing XI for their match against PBKS.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit is fresh off an unbeaten ton against CSk which went in vain. It was his second in the IPL. His form is key for Mumbai Indians for the rest of the season.

Ishan Kishan (WK)

Kishan will open the batting with Rohit. He scored 23 off 15 balls and could not continue longer. He has been giving MI quick starts but failed against CSK.

Suryakumar Yadav

SKY will slot in at three. After his fifty against DC, he scored a duck in the next game against Chennai Super Kings. He missed the first few games due to injury.

Tilak Varma

The southpaw will slot in at four. He scored 31 off 20 balls. Tilak had a good start to his IPL career for Mumbai Indians with two seasons of over 350. He will need a score in the next game.

Hardik Pandya (C)

Hardik Pandya will slot in at five. He scored two in the last match against CSK. He was expensive with the ball going for 43 of his three overs including 20 off one over.

Tim David

David scored 45 in the game against Delhi Capitals which is his highest score this season. Against CSK, he scored 13 off five. He will slot in at six.

Romario Shepherd

Shepherd will slot in at seven. This also shows the batting depth of Mumbai this season. Shepherd is an all-rounder and equally good with the ball.

Mohammad Nabi

Nabi will slot in at eight. He scored just four in the last match. He bowled a good spell of 3/19 in a match that saw CSK score over 200 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah

Bumrah will slot in at nine. He went wicketless in the previous match. So far this season he has picked 10 wickets in six games. Against CSK, he gave 4/27.

 Gerald Coetzee

Coetzee will slot in at 10. He has picked up nine wickets with a best of 4/34. Against CSK, he picked up 1/35. The South African pacer has been well-backed by the MI team management.

Piyush Chawla

Chawla will conclude the Mumbai Indians playing XI. He was not included in the playing XI against CSK but should be played in the next game.

Impact Sub: Akash Madhwal

Mumbai might use Akash Madwal in the Impact Sub role for their match against Punjab Kings. He went for 37 of his three overs against CSK.
