Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav provided a glimpse into the Decision Review System (DRS) strategy with Delhi Capitals' (DC) captain Rishabh Pant. Kuldeep Yadav humorously disclosed that he reserves one of the team's two reviews for himself, regardless of Rishabh Pant's input.
Kuldeep Yadav played a pivotal role in the Delhi Capitals' six-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday, April 12. He was the wrecker-in-chief, as LSG was restricted to 167 runs in 20 overs. Yadav earned the 'Player of the Match' award for his impactful bowling performance.
The 29-year-old missed the Capitals' recent three matches due to injury. The left-arm spinner delivered a sensational spell of 3/20 in four overs during his comeback match. He dismissed three crucial batters, including Marcus Stoinis, Nicholas Pooran, and KL Rahul, in his first spell.
One Is Always For Me - Kuldeep Yadav
In the post-match interaction, Kuldeep Yadav explained that he opts for the DRS when he's uncertain. The wrist-spinner suggested that he always reserves one DRS for himself.
“Whenever I feel like it's 50-50, I try to go. Whenever I feel it's 60-40, I listen to Rishabh. DRS is something you as a bowler want to take. You feel there is a chance of getting wickets. When you got two DRSs, one is always for me,” said Kuldeep.
Earlier in the season against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), Kuldeep Yadav made a decisive DRS gesture by grabbing Rishabh Pant's hand, leading to the dismissal of opening batter Jos Buttler. This action garnered significant attention from fans and cricketing experts.

Was Tough When I Wasn't Fit - Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav expressed the challenges he faced due to the injury, crediting Patrick Farhart for his swift recovery. Yadav emphasized the significance of his three crucial wickets in controlling the middle overs' run rate.
"Was tough when I wasn't fit. Got injured first game and was difficult to see the team struggling in the middle overs. Credit goes to Patrick (Farhart) to maintain my fitness and get me ready quickly. All three were important wickets, it was crucial to get wickets in the middle overs to control the run rate."
"I liked the first and second wickets, I have played a lot against Pooran and the execution for that was right. I was clear with my plans, just the length matters for me as a spinner. Very clear and confident with my skills," Kuldeep added.
Kuldeep Yadav's absence was felt during the team's recent defeats against the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. The Capitals suffered a heavy defeat against KKR, conceding 272/7. The Delhi-based team gave away 234 runs to the Mumbai team at the Wankhede Stadium.
The recent win against LSG provides a much-needed boost for the Capitals, elevating them from the bottom of the table. Rishabh Pant's team aims to maintain momentum when they face the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, April 17.
