Punjab Kings (PBKS) takes on Royal Challengers Bangalore in match 6 of IPL 2024 on Monday, March 25. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. This is the first game between the two sides at the Chinnswamy since 2019.

Punjab Kings won their IPL 2024 season opener against Delhi Capitals chasing 175 against Delhi Capitals. It was a comfortable chase in the end and a clinical performance by the Kings who started their campaign with a win at the newly-built Mullanpur stadium.

Sam Curran’s 63 and Liam Livingstone’s 38 were glimpses of the batting powerhouse that the Kings are in this season. Shikhar Dhawan started with a 22 while Jonny Bairstow was unlucky to be run out for nine. Prabhsimran Singh the batter scored a good-looking 26.’

Their bowling attack in the first ODI overall had a good outing. The only blip was Hardhal Patel’s 24 runs off the final over of the SDC innings. Other than that, they were able to take wickets at regular intervals of the opposition.

The lack of spinners is good spinners is where PBKS might have a problem in this tournament. However, after a clinical win against DC, PBKS might want to keep the same XI for their match against RCB at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday.

Dhawan will continue to open the batting. He scored 22 in his first outing for Punjab Kings. he is closing in on 1000 runs for the franchise. Overall, he has a chance to get to 7000 IPL runs this season.

Jonny Bairstow

Bairstow scored 9 in his first outing for the Kings this season. He had a tough Test series against India recently and needs to score runs to get over that disappointment. He scored over 250 runs for the franchise last season.

Sam Curran

Curran batted at three and scored his third fifty for the Kings, He scored 63 in the chase which is now his highest score in the IPL. He bowled just one over with the ball.

Jitesh scored nine off nine balls in the first game against Delhi Capitals. He has a career strike rate of 157.71 in the IPL and scores at almost 200 in his first 10 balls in the league.

Liam Livingstone

Livingstone finished the game for Punjab with an unbeaten 38 off 21 balls. He might bat at five or six depending upon the match situation for Punjab Kings. However, the role of a power-hitter finisher suits him.

Shashank Singh / Rishi Dhawan

One among the two might bat in the lower order. Shashank was dismissed in the previous game for a first-ball duck which might prompt the Kings to replace him with the much-experienced Rishi Dhawan.

Harpreet Brar

Brar is one of the two specialist Indian spinners for the Kings. He bowled a good spell of three overs for 14 runs picking up one wicket. Brar has the distinction of dismissing Kohli, De Villiers, and Maxwell in the same match.

Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel is the death-over specialist for PBKS. He went for 24 off his last over spoiling his figures of 47/2 in the game. he won the Purple Cap for RCB in IPL 2021 and is back at the Chinnaswamy.

Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh will be the fellow Indian pacer. He picked up 17 wickets for the Kings last season and picked up two in the first game against DC. Overall, he has 59 wickets from 53 games for the franchise.

Rahul Chahar

Chahar will be the other Indian sinner in the playing XI. He is a specialist leg spinner who did well for Mumbai Indians but has failed to replicate his form for the Kings.

Kagiso Rabada

Rabada concludes the predicted playing XI for Punjab Kings against RCB. He picked up 1 for 36 and had a decent outing against his former franchise. He has picked up 31 wickets in 20 games for his franchise.

Impact Sub- Prabhsimran Singh

Singh scored 26 off 17 balls at number three coming in as the Impact sub. He might be used in that same role by the Kings in the next match as well. The batter scored a century for the Punjab Kings last season. The hard-hitter will replace one of the bowlers.
