Mayank Agarwal came up with a stunning effort to save a certain six in the recently concluded match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Chasing 278 runs, MI needed 68 runs in the last three overs. While scoring 68 runs in 18 balls was definitely a big task, MI were still very much in the game. Every run counted at that stage and Mayank Agarwal came up with a brilliant effort in the 18th over to save five precious runs for his side.

On the second ball of the 18th over, Jaydev Unadkat bowled a slower bouncer outside the off stump. Pandya picked up the length and pace of the ball and slapped it hard towards long on. At first, it looked like the ball would sail over Mayank Agarwal’s head.

However, the SRH opener had other ideas. He made a timely jump and caught the ball with both hands while being airborne. As the momentum took him over the ropes, he smartly threw the ball inside the playing field to save five runs for his side. Mayank Agarwal also ended up hurting himself due to the fall. However, he quickly stood up and continued on the field.

Watch the save from Mayank Agarwal:

Earlier in the game, Mayank Agarwal failed to get going with the bat as he was out for just 11 runs off 13 balls. However, it did not hurt SRH much as they piled up a record total of 277 for 3 in the allotted 20 overs. After Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma’s whirlwind fifties laid the foundation, Heinrich Klaasen’s unbeaten knock of 80 runs powered SRH to the highest-ever IPL total.

Head completed his fifty off just 18 balls while Sharma did it in just 16 balls. On the other hand, Klaasen reached his fifty in 23 balls and eventually remained unbeaten on 80 off just 34 balls. In reply, MI came up with a good batting effort but eventually finished on 246/5.
