Watch: MS Dhoni takes Hardik Pandya to cleaners, smashes him for three sixes in a row

MS Dhoni, on Sunday (April 14), once again showed that age is just a number as he played a breathtaking cameo to power Chennai Super Kings to a 200-plus total in the ongoing game against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.

MS Dhoni faced just four balls and it was enough for him to make a huge impact with the bat. The 42-year-old, who retired from international cricket in 2020, took MI captain Hardik Pandya to the cleaners. The former India skipper hit the allrounder for three sixes in a row in the last over of CSK's innings.

MS Dhoni walked out to bat after Hardik Pandya dismissed Daryl Mitchell on the second ball of the final over. On the very first ball he faced, MS Dhoni hit his former India teammate for a six over long-off. The fourth ball of the over was hit for a six over wide long-on.

Hardik Pandya then bowled a full toss on the pads and MS Dhoni hit another six to bring up the 200 for CSK. On the final ball of the over as well as the innings, he took a double to remain unbeaten on 20 runs off just 4 balls. With the former CSK captain hitting Hardik Pandya for 20 runs in the final over, the MI skipper ended up conceding 26 runs in the over.

Talking about the game, CSK finished their innings on 206 for 4. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad starred with the bat, scoring 69 while Shivam Dube remained unbeaten on 66 off 38 balls. At the time of writing this report, MI were on 13 for no loss in the third over.

MI are eyeing their third win this season while CSK are eyeing their fourth. CSK are also looking for their first away win in IPL 2024. They have lost both the away games this season and will be hoping to win the ongoing game.
