Rashid Khan, on Sunday (March 31), held on to a brilliant catch to send back Aiden Markram in the ongoing game between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The South Africa star was batting on 17 off 18 balls and decided to go for a big shot to release the pressure that was building on him. However, he could not make good contact with the ball and paid a big price. On the fourth ball of the 15th over bowled by veteran pacer Umesh Yadav, Aiden Markram decided to go big.
The right-handed batsman did not go for power and went for a chip shot towards long-on. At first, it looked like the ball would fall well in front of Rashid Khan but the Afghan star was not ready to throw in the towel. He came running and completed the catch on the slide. The ball came at an awkward height but Rashid Khan did brilliantly to hold on to the ball.

Earlier in the game, Rashid Khan showed why he is widely regarded as one of the best spinners in the world. The right-arm spinner dismissed the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen to give his team a huge breakthrough. After scoring two whirlwind half-centuries in his last two games, Klaasen made a promising start against GT as well.
He was batting on 24 off 12 balls with the help of four and two sixes before his stay was cut short by Rashid Khan. The Afghan spin spearhead dismissed the South Africa star with a wrong ‘un. Talking about the game, SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first. At the time of writing this report, SRH were on 147 for 5 after 18 overs with Abdul Samad and Shahbaz Ahmed in the middle.
