Although Suryakumar Yadav didn't have the kind of impact he would've wanted in his comeback game, he made sure he applauded his teammates for their heroics. The 20th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is taking between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Mumbai Indians have put on a valiant show with the bat in the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals. After the brutal show by Rohit Sharma (49) and Ishan Kishan (42) at the start, Tim David stole the limelight in the backend for his team.
The Australian batter has been at his brutal best in the game and put his team in the dominating position at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He took attack to the opposition bowlers in the last 5 overs and gave fans and his teammates everything to cheer about at the Wankhede Stadium.
During the 18th over of the game, Tim David made Suryakumar Yadav stand and applaud him for his heroics. On the 2nd ball of the over, Anrich Nortje bowled a high full-toss, over the waist, to which the batter slammed into the top tier at fine-leg. It was a big six that made the crowd go berserk.
Suryakumar Yadav, who was sitting in the dressing room, was highly impressed by the shot by Tim David. The batter stood up and applauded the batter for his magnificent hit. The video of the incident went viral on the internet with many lauding Suryakumar's selfless nature.
Tim David played a brutal innings for his team and ended with the knock of an unbeaten 45 runs off 21 balls. He had a strike rate of over 214 in his innings and hit 2 fours and 4 sixes. But what was the highlight of the innings was the last over-hitting by Romario Shepherd.
The batter slammed 32 runs to Anrich Nortje in the last over the innings. He went 4,6,6,6,4,6 and made sure that Mumbai Indians ended with a big total on the board. Based on the brutal finish, the five-time champions ended with a big total of 234 runs on the board.

Tim David talked to broadcasters after the Mumbai Indians ended on a high note. He was in awe of the finish by Romario Shepherd in the last over, saying that the batter put the hammer down in that last over. He also opened up about the six which he to Anrich Nortje, adding that he thought he would die when the ball came to him. He explained:
"One went out of the ground and everyone in the stands enjoyed that. Great effort today, we had to stand up after a tough start to the season. Shepherd put the hammer down in that last over. Off pace deliveries didn't feel like bouncing up high. Perfect finish (last over) and we have got some momentum I thought I was going to die when that ball came towards me (high full toss off Nortje that he managed to hit for six)."
With the kind of batting display that they put on, Mumbai Indians would be sensing their first win of the IPL 2024. They would be hoping to pick quick wickets and win the game by a big margin.
