Deepak Chahar executed a funny act with Virat Kohli during RCB vs CSK clash of IPL 2024. Deepak Chahar tried to block Virat Kohli from running when he was on the crease. The IPL 2024 opener took place at Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Deepak Chahar bowled 4 overs for CSK in the match. The right-arm pacer did a decent job by conceding 37 runs in 4 overs. He picked 1 wicket during his spell by dismissing the dangerous batter Glenn Maxwell for a duck.

Virat Kohli failed to come up with an impressive show. Kohli, who returned to the field after almost two months break, added 21 runs off 20 balls in the match. The right-handed batter was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman while trying to smack a six.

CSK crush RCB by 6 wickets

Meanwhile, CSK outplayed RCB by 6 wickets in IPL 2024 opening game. The men-in-yellow chased down a 174-run target with ease in the match. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bat first.

RCB started well with a 41-run stand between opener Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. However, they faced a mini-batting collapse, losing 5 wickets for 78 runs on the board. Mustafizur Rahman hunted 4 wickets to demolish RCB’s top-order batting.

Middle-order batters Dinesh Karthik (38*) and Anuj Rawat (48*) executed a fabulous comeback for RCB later. With their unbeaten quickfire knocks, they drove the scoreboard to a respectable total of 173-6.

However, RCB completely failed with their bowling attack. They dismissed only 4 wickets and their bowlers completely failed against Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube’s pair. The duo added an unbeaten 66 runs for the 6th wicket to capture winning runs for the team. Cameron Green picked the most 2 wickets for RCB.

RCB takes on PBKS in the next game

After tasting defeat in their opening game, RCB will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their next encounter. The encounter takes place on Monday, March 25 at Chinnswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Virat Kohli will look for a better outing in the next game.

On the other hand, CSK will clash with Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next game at home. The match takes place on Tuesday, March 26 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK and GT are the finalists of the last season.
