The camaraderie between Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik is well known and it was evident once again on Wednesday (April 11) when Mumbai Indians locked horns against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Dinesh Karthik scored a brilliant quickfire half-century to help RCB post their highest total in IPL 2024. The Bengaluru-based outfit finished their innings on 196/8 in the allotted 20 overs after being asked to bat first. The wicketkeeper-batsman smashed an unbeaten 53 runs off just 23 balls to help RCB finish their innings strongly. His knock was studded with five fours and four sixes.
And as Dinesh Karthik was busy taking Mumbai Indians bowlers to the cleaners, Rohit Sharma tried his best to get under his skin by teasing him throughout the innings. In one instance, Rohit Sharma was heard telling Dinesh Karthik: "World Cup khelna hai sabash. (You need to play the World Cup, well done)."
Standing beside wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma was seen clapping and teasing the RCB wicketkeeper. In another instance, the former Mumbai Indians skipper was seen arguing with Karthik in a hilarious manner after the latter hit Jasprit Bumrah for a four.

Talking about the game, Mumbai Indians were on 23 for no loss at the time of writing this report. Both MI and RCB are eyeing their second win in IPL 2024 tonight. While MI have managed to win just one of their first four games, RCB have emerged victorious only once in five games.
Earlier in the game, Jasprit Bumrah starred with the ball for Mumbai Indians. He picked up five wickets and conceded only 21 runs in his four overs.
"It was a good day. One of those days where what I was executing was working. Wicket looked sticky (early on). Disappointed with my last ball. When the first over was bowled, I realised ball was gripping a bit. Wanted to bowl a good hard length.
"I've been doing this for 11 years, so I'm used to it. What happened at the end was dew set in and it got better to bat on. Don't want to get too high or too low with good and bad days. This game is a great leveller. Want to keep working hard. The wicket did get better. DK played a special knock. Over here, it's tough to stop someone when they get going," said Bumrah after the innings.
