Yash Dayal responds to Murali Kartik’s ‘trash’ comments

RCB pacer Yash Dayal has come up with a reply after Murali Karthik’s controversial comments on him. During RCB vs PBKS encounter of IPL 2024 on Monday, commentator Murali Karthik referred to Yash Dayal as someone’s trash and this didn’t go down well with RCB fans on social media.

During the commentary, Karthik said, “someone’s trash is someone’s treasure”. Yash Dayal faced a backlash after his infamous final over for Gujarat Titans last season, where he was smacked for 5 consecutive sixes by KKR batter Rinku Singh.

Notably, Dayal was released by Gujarat Titans ahead of IPL 2024. He also did not play any game in the previous season after his infamous spell against KKR. However, RCB showed trust in the left-arm pacer during IPL 2024 auction, offering him a deal of Rs. 5 crore.

Responding to Murali Karthik’s comments, Yash Dayal has said, “I was hurt after seeing what was going on social media, I saw what people think about what background I come from and playing cricket at this level. I thought ‘I’m not the first or the last person with whom this has happened, I will work hard and prove”.

During RCB vs PBKS match of IPL 2024 on Monday, Yash Dayal arrived with an impressive spell. Across 4 overs, the left-arm pacer conceded just 23 runs and clinched 1 wicket. Notably, he leaked only 10 runs in his first 3 overs.

Murali Karthik’s comment lead to social media backlash

Meanwhile, Murali Karthik’s comment has led to his backlash on social media. Many RCB fans have criticized Karthik’s insulting comments about the RCB pacer. Even the RCB franchise did not shy away from backing Dayal on social media.

On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) shared a photo of Yash Dayal on their official X handle and wrote, “He’s treasure, period”. Now, the RCB pacer has also responded on the matter.

RCB outplayed PBSK to register first win of IPL 2024

Meanwhile, the Faf du Plessis & Co. outplayed Punjab Kings in their previous encounter by 4 wickets on Monday. Chasing 177 in the match at home Chinnaswamy Stadium, Virat Kohli led the way for the team’s victory.

The RCB opener added 77 runs off 49 balls. RCB lost Faf du Plessis (3), Cameron Green (3), and Gleen Maxwell (3) cheaply during the tricky chase. Dinesh Karthik once again came to the team’s rescue. With his unbeaten 28 off 10 deliveries, Karthik captured the winning runs for the team in the death overs.
