Indian National Cricket Team after the Mumbai Test against New Zealand National Cricket Team donated a sum of Rs 35,000 to the groundstaff of Wankhede Stadium.

Virat Kohli-led India won the second Test match of the two-match Test series against Tom Latham-led New Zealand National Cricket Team by the huge margin of 372 runs. Also, this was India’s biggest Test victory in terms of run margin in the history of cricket.

Earlier in the first Test between India and New Zealand at Green Park Kanpur, which ended in a thrilling draw the newly appointed India head coach Rahul Dravid donated Rs 35,000 to Green Park’s ground staff, for preparing a sporting pitch.

Also, the gesture by the Indian team in the Kanpur and Mumbai Test was a token of appreciation for not dishing out an under-prepared track in the matches and for providing a balanced track in the series.

India Dethrone New Zealand To Become No. 1 Ranked ICC Test Team After Beating Them 1-0 In The Home Test Series

India have won the 2-match series by 1-0 after the victory in the second Test against New Zealand as the first match between the teams at Green Park, Kanpur ended in a draw. With the win, India are back on the number 1 spot in the ICC Test rankings and this was India’s 14th consecutive home series victory.

Meanwhile, this was India’s first Test series victory in the presence of new India Head Coach Rahul Dravid, after the series victory speaking to host broadcasters Dravid said that it’s good to finish on the winning note. He said:

“Good to finish the Test series on a winning note, came very close in Kanpur, but couldn’t take that last wicket. Credit to the team, they have pulled themselves back from tough situations and were a bit disappointed at not finishing it off in Kanpur. Good to see the boys step up and take their opportunities, we were missing a few seniors, but the youngsters have taken their chances.”
