India T20I captain Rohit Sharma has revealed that they have clearly told all the players that their efforts will never go unnoticed in the team and they should play fearless cricket.

Captain Rohit Sharma has looked exceptional since becoming the permanent captain of India in the T20 Internationals. He has led India towards three consecutive victories against New Zealand at home and has won the Player Of the Series award for his 2 half-centuries and a 48-run knock in the series.

Meanwhile, during the post-match press conference, skipper Rohit Sharma said that they are trying to provide security to all the players in the team so that they can go out in the middle and express themselves.

“We are trying to give the players the security so that they can go out there and play fearless cricket. In the first meeting too, we spoke of this very clearly to all the players that if you are trying to do something for the team, that act will never go unnoticed.

“We will always recognise when you are trying to put your hands (up) and take the pressure on yourself and trying to do something for the team,” he said.

Rohit Sharma further added that the job of the coach and the captain is to encourage players to do their best, and if their efforts go in vain, the team will still back them.

“The job of the coach and captain is to tell the players that you go and take your chances if it doesn’t come off, we will still back you,” he stated.

T20I captain Rohit also talked about consistency in the selection and said that they will try to back players “as much as possible”.

“We will stay consistent with that, we are gonna try and back as much as possible because of the talent that we have in India, it’s not easy, most of the guys sitting outside have also done really well.

“So you try and fit everyone in the squad and it’s not easy since only 11 can play. It’s always tough but we always try that whenever the players step out they don’t have any excess baggage,” he added.
