IND vs NZ: “He Should Convert His Opportunities Into Big Scores” - Dinesh Karthik On Ishan Kishan Ahead Of IND vs NZ 2nd T20I

Dinesh Karthik emphasized Ishan Kishan’s extended lean stretch before the second T20I between India and New Zealand on Sunday in Lucknow (January 29).
After failing to reach a fifty in the previous 12 T20Is, the veteran believes the wicketkeeper-batter should capitalize on his opportunity. He believes Kishan will not blow his chances in the subcontinent.

The decision was taken as Kishan managed just four runs in the Men in Blue’s Friday opening T20I loss in Ranchi to the visitors by 21 runs.
Dinesh Karthik remarked in a Cricbuzz interview: “Ishan Kishan is one player who has received a lot of opportunities but hasn’t reached the fifty-point mark. He hasn’t scored fifty in his last eleven games. Opening in T20s is a luxury, particularly in Asia, and he has done so in all of his games”

Kishan has scored 122 runs at an uninspiring average of 12.2 in his most recent ten Twenty20 innings. The 24-year-old batsman last scored a fifty in a Twenty20 match against South Africa in Visakhapatnam 12 innings ago.
“Ishan Kishan’s someone who has done well in ODI”: Dinesh Karthik
In the final two Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand, Dinesh Karthik expects Ishan Kishan to perform well with the bat. He did, however, praise Kishan for his strong ODI performances despite having few opportunities.

“The next two games will be crucial for him to score some huge runs and ensure he’s a constant member of the XI, “He’s someone who has done well in ODI cricket in the minimal chances he’s got. He’s looking to maximize his potential as a player and opportunities in India,” Dinesh Karthik said.
In an ODI against Bangladesh last month, Kishan recently struck a double century while beginning the innings. However, he struggled as a middle-order batsman in the three-match ODI series against New Zealand without KL Rahul, scoring 5, 8*, and 17.
