IND vs NZ: "Probably He Should Request The Team Management To Go And Play Domestic Cricket" - Sunil Joshi Says Yuzvendra Chahal Is Going Through Lean Patch

India will host the 13th edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in October and November, which is the first ODI tournament to be held entirely in the nation. Former India cricketer Sunil Joshi believes that Yuzvendra Chahal will not have a place in the 15-member squad for the marquee event.
Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was not in his best form and took just three wickets in two ODIs during the World Cup year. He last played in the first ODI against New Zealand and conceded 43 runs in his 7.2 overs. Chahal missed the rest of the series due to an injury sustained while fielding.

Bishnoi Is More Consistent And Has A Quicker Arm Action – Sunil Joshi
Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, the former India selector said that Chahal has lost his form and needs to play domestic cricket to regain his mojo. Joshi stated that he would pick Ravi Bishnoi Chahal as he is a better bowler and fielder than him.
“Over a period any bowler will go through that phase. Probably Chahal is in that phase. Someone like Chahal, who is not able to get game time in the middle, probably should request the team management to go and play domestic cricket. Match time is very important for him to get back into form. That should be the ideal preparation for Chahal,” Sunil Joshi said.
“Jadeja will be in my squad. If he is not in a good rhythm, you have a backup in Axar. Then probably I would look at Washy [Washington Sundar] or Ravi Bishnoi if I have to have one more legspinner because Bishnoi is more consistent and has a quicker arm action and he’s a better fielder than Chahal,” he added.
Yuzvendra Chahal will next be seen in action in the third and final T20I of the three-match series between India and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Wednesday, February 1.
