The 35-year-old opening batsman Rohit Sharma, who leads the India National Cricket Team across all three formats of the game, has overtaken the legendary Australia National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist to become the 16th highest run-getter in the history of One Day International (ODI) cricket.

Rohit Sharma achieved the massive landmark during the first ODI of the three-match series against the Tom Latham-led New Zealand National Cricket Team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad on Wednesday, January 18.

The 35-year-old once again provided India with a good start in the match alongside Shubman Gill. Rohit looked great out in the middle, but just like his last few innings, he just gifted away his wicket and failed to convert a good start into a good score.
