After a complete dominance of their neighbors, India is now up for the Kiwi challenge. The Blackcaps are coming here on the back of a 2-1 series win in Pakistan.

After scoring his first hundred since 2019 in the Asia Cup 2022 game against Afghanistan, Virat Kohli is now back to his golden form in ODIs too. The former India skipper has scored 3 hundreds in his last 4 innings against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and will be the danger man for the visiting New Zealand team.

As the absence of an in-form Kane Williamson puts New Zealand in a difficult position, Devon Conway would be the key player to watch out for in the NZ The southpaw batsman was named man of the series against Pakistan.

New Zealand will also be missing Tim Southee and Trent Boult in this series. There are many less experienced faces in the bowling attack.  Lockie Ferguson, Ish Sodhi, and Mitchell Santner will have to lead the bowling effort for the visitors. India with their superior-looking squad would be the favorites but with New Zealand, if history is any indicator, you’re always in for a surprise.

India will have one eye on the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 this year as they get ready to play New Zealand in the home series. Shubman Gill has knocked on the door with some consistent performances and will be one to watch out for.

The NZ series will be a great opportunity to test the likes of Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav. Ishan Kishan continues to be part of the NZ vs IND ODI squad while KS Bharat comes in for KL Rahul.

Another change is in the bowling department as Shardul Thakur comes in for Arshdeep Singh. Bengal bowling all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed has replaced Axar Patel from the Sri Lanka ODI squad in NZ vs IND ODIs. India seem to be going for their best players for this NZ vs IND series.

The 34-year-old middle-order batter run machine Virat Kohli scored consecutive ODI tons -113 vs Bangladesh in the 3rd ODI and 113 vs Sri Lanka in the 1st ODI before adding one in the last ODI (3 tons in 4 innings). A good show in the Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022, where he was among the leading run-getters, gave him the necessary confidence to return to form in ODIs too and he responded by scoring 113 in the last inconsequential ODI against Bangladesh.

His 113 off 87 balls in the 1st SL vs IND ODI was laced with 12 fours and a six and he was an obvious choice for Man of the Match. Suryakumar Yadav has hit 2 fifties but has failed to convert fifties into tons. His highest ODI score is only 64 against West Indies in February 2022. But he is having an excellent run of form in T20Is, where he has hit 3 tons and 13 fifties and averages 45+ at an outstanding strike rate of 180+. He is currently ranked No. 1 in T20Is by ICC.

The 32-year-old right-handed batter wasn’t in the ODI squad for the Bangladesh series and wasn’t in the playing XI against Sri Lanka in the 1st  and 2nd ODI but replaced Hardik Pandya (who was rested) in the 3rd ODI. He scored only 4 off as many balls in the 3rd ODI.

KL Rahul isn’t named in the upcoming home New Zealand limited over series due to family commitments and Suryakumar Yadav will want to take full advantage of this opportunity. He averages 29.85 in 17 ODIs amassing 388 runs. He will look to continue his T20I form in the upcoming NZ vs IND ODIs.
