Early and Domestic Career
Nathan Lyon started his early coaching under mentor John Davison. He entered the domestic circuit in 2010 with the South Australia team and played for the side till 2013. Since 2013, he has been part of New South Wales and plays for the same side.
International Career
Lyon made his international debut in 2011 with a Test against Sri Lanka. He also made his ODI debut next year in 2012, however, could not excel in the 50-over format. He is a crucial mix of the Test team.
He has played 129 Tests for Australia as of 2024 and in 242 innings, accounts for 530 wickets at an average of 30+. He has also got 24 five-wicket hauls and 5 ten-wicket hauls. In 29 ODIs, he has got 29 wickets at 46+ average. Lyon was part of the Australian Team that won the ICC WTC Title 2023 in the final against India.
Franchise Career
Nathan Lyon has been part of only the Big Bash League so far. He played for Adelaide Strikers in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He joined Sydney Sixers in 2013 and was part of the same side till the 2023 season.
