Tushar Deshpande is an emerging cricketer from Mumbai who has gained a lot of fame in the last few seasons of IPL. Tushar Deshpande is an uncapped pacer from Mumbai who is a member of Chennai Super Kings in IPL.
Tushar Deshpande is a right-arm medium pacer. In IPL 2023, he was the highest wicket-taker for Chennai Super Kings and helped the team to clinch the trophy. He has not made his international debut yet.
Early Life and Career
Tushar Deshpande was born on May 15, 1995, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He was the only child of his parents Uday Deshpande and late Vandana Deshpande, both of whom supported his cricket aspirations.
Tushar Deshpande was born and brought up in Mumbai. He completed his schooling in Kalyan and later completed his graduation from Mumbai University. He married his childhood friend Nabha Gaddamwar.
In 2016, the right-arm pacer got a big break as he was picked by Mumbai domestic team. He became a regular member of the side in 2016, playing in all domestic tournaments. Later, he also got an IPL contract.
IPL Career
Tushar Deshpande entered the IPL in the 2020 season when Delhi Capitals bought him for Rs. 20 lakh in the auction. Later in the 2022 mega-auction, Chennai Super Kings grabbed him into their squad.
Interestingly, Tushar Deshpande became the first-ever impact player in IPL history after the rule was introduced in the 2023 season. The right-armer has been a decent performer in the league.
In his debut season in 2020, he played just 5 games for the Delhi Capitals. Later, CSK featured him in 2 games in the 2022 season. In IPL 2023, due to Deepak Chahar and Mukesh Chowdhary's absence, CSK gave him a lot of opportunities.
Deshpande was part of all 16 games and ended as the leading pacer for the side. He grabbed 21 wickets in the season. CSK also won the title in IPL 2023 and Deshpande was given credit for his contribution with the ball.
