South African Cricket Team grabbed an invaluable 10 Super League Points. South Africa won the match by 9 runs only but they were in control of the match and made a statement that they are not finished yet in the ODI format. The match was a rain-affected one due to which the contest was 40 overs per side.

Temba Bavuma once again struggled to get some significant runs under his belt. The management’s decision to make him bat at the No.3 position didn’t work quite well. The pitch was by no means easy and as we all know the batter needs time to get his eye in the middle.

The skipper was spot-on with his captaincy as he rotated his bowlers quite well. The batter needs to be patient as we all have seen that he has tasted success against big teams. The Proteas would be aware that changing captain at this moment can be risky.

Temba Bavuma would be hoping that the team continues this winning momentum; at the same time, they should not get complacent as losing two back-to-back games won’t take any time as India would be well prepared for any challenge.

A Good fight at the end – Temba Bavuma

During the post-match presentation, the Skipper Temba Bavuma was asked about the nail-biting thriller. “A good fight at the end, obviously Sanju pushed us at the end, but the boys stood firm and took us to the win.”

David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen played Positively- Temba Bavuma

“There wasn’t much grass on the surface, we lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs, myself and Aiden (Markram), but the boys knuckled down. Miller and Klaasen played positively, stung together a partnership, and took us to a good score.”

I thought We Lost Our Way In the Middle Overs- Temba Bavuma

“Bowling upfront was good, in the first 15 overs by KG and Parnell. I thought we lost our way in the middle overs, and gave away far too many runs, but in the end, the result did go our way and I’m happy with that.”
