India National Cricket Team pacer Shardul Thakur castled South Africa National Cricket Team captain Temba Bavuma, who is going through a lean patch, with an absolute peach of a delivery in the ODI series opener.
The first ODI of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa, which is part of the ongoing South Africa tour of India 2022, is being played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Thursday, October 6.
India National Cricket Team pacer Shardul Thakur, who provided the opening breakthrough to India by dismissing opener Janneman Malan, came to bowl the 15th over of the innings and on the last ball of the over, he cleaned up the Proteas skipper with a brilliant delivery.
The Indian pacer bowled with a cross seam on a good length on the fifth stump. The ball shaped in and the Proteas captain was beaten by the excessive movement. Bavuma came forward to play the drive, but he left a gap between bat and pad and the ball sneaked through to hit off and middle-stump.
