IND vs SA: Hardik Pandya Is A Complete Package If He Bowls His Full Quota Of Overs: Parthiv Patel
Former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel believes that if Hardik Pandya bowls his full quota of overs, the Indian T20I team will be even more threatening.
During Gujarat Titans’ (GT) title-winning campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the all-rounder bowled in patches.
In the recently finished event, the 28-year-old bowled 183 deliveries and collected eight wickets. In the final, Pandya bowled his complete quota of four overs and finished with match-winning figures of 3-17.
He has been named in India’s team for the forthcoming home series against South Africa, however, his role in the playing XI is still unknown.
“Excited at the prospect of Hardik Pandya’s return” – Parthiv Patel
Parthiv Patel, who believes Pandya’s bowling adds a lot to the team’s balance, remarked on Cricbuzz: “Another thing to look forward is how many overs will Pandya be bowling. He did not bowl in all games of the IPL, but was sensational in the final. If he is fit enough to bowl all of his four overs, then the balance of the Indian team will look even better.
“Excited at the prospect of Hardik Pandya’s return. He performed and led GT well in the IPL and he brings a different kind of balance when he comes into the Indian team. Also excited to see where he will play in the batting order.” Patel further said.
During the 2021 T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, the all-rounder was last seen in national colours.
He was dropped for the next series, after which he had to undertake rehabilitation in order to regain full fitness and become a fully functional all-rounder.
Pandya batted at No. 4 for his IPL franchise, accumulating 487 runs in 16 games.
