Irfan Pathan is ecstatic about the Indian team’s discussion surrounding the finisher’s role. Finishing has become one of India’s leading issues in recent years.

India has at least 3 choices for the finisher’s role heading into the T20I series against South Africa.

In the post-Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 era of Indian cricket, a few fresh people will be given opportunities and potential roles will be defined. As the Indian cricket team prepares to face South Africa in a five-match T20I series, the finisher’s berth in the team will be a priority.

During the series against the Proteas, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda, and Dinesh Karthik are set to be put to the test.

‘Hardik is capable of finishing the game’: Irfan Pathan

Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan will be watching Hardik Pandya closely. It will not be the first time Hardik was handed the finisher’s job, but it has been a while since the Indian team had the all-rounder at their disposal in full swing.

“Hardik Pandya is immensely important and can win the game. He can do that while also batting from the top. So the management is well aware of this, and with him on the team, they now have not one, but three finishers. Hardik Pandya’s batting style allows him to hit sixes at any time and has begun to play along the ground, which is why he’s been outstanding this season in the IPL.”

“Returning to batting, the Indian team has made it work with three finishers, and possessing him back in the squad excites me greatly “Irfan Pathan stated during an interview on Star Sports’ Follow The Blues.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi will host the first T20I between India and South Africa. The first Twenty20 International between India and South Africa will begin at 7:30 p.m. IST on Thursday (June 9).
