IND vs SA: I Wish That He Plays Freely – Parthiv Patel Hopeful Of Ishan Kishan Performing Well In South Africa T20Is

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel wants young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan to play freely in the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa National Cricket Team.

Ishan Kishan, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 15.25 crore at the Indian Premier League 2022 mega auction, started off the tournament very well but he had an extremely poor patch in the middle of the season and he ended the tournament with 418 runs at an average of 32.15.

However, his Indian Premier League 2022 performance was not taken into consideration for his selection to the Indian team and he was given a place in the squad for the home T20Is against South Africa.

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Parthiv Patel said that Kishan did not score enough runs for the five-time champions in the Indian Premier League 2022.

He added that Kishan brings a “whole new dimension” with him and was hoping for a good performance from the left-hander in the South Africa series.

He asserted: “Ishan Kishan would be the player to watch out for me. He started well for MI this season, but he did not score enough runs. If he performs well for the Indian team at the top of the order, he brings a whole new dimension, he is also a left-handed option. I wish that he plays freely.”

He also converted his starts into big scores in the IPL – Parthiv Patel on Quinton de Kock

Former India cricketer Patel feels that the South Africa wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock, who scored 508 runs for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League 2022, will have to perform well to help South Africa win the series against India.

He added that the Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman batted with an impressive strike rate in the Indian Premier League and converted good starts into big scores. Patel elaborated:

“If South Africa want to win this series, they need Quinton de Kock to perform. He performed really well in the IPL and even improved his strike rate. He also converted his starts into big scores in the IPL. “

The first match of the five-match T20 International (T20I) series between the India National Cricket Team and South Africa National Cricket Team will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, June 9.
