Arshdeep Singh is all set to take part in South Africa T20I Series. He was in NCA working on his skills which was the reason he wasn’t part of the Australian T20I series.

The left-arm pacer would be aware of the fact that he has to perform exceptionally well in this Series as he is competing with Harshal Patel for the 3rd seamer.

We saw how Harshal Patel got hammered in the recent Australia T20I series. The management would be keenly monitoring both these pacers as both are capable of breaking partnerships on a given day. Arshdeep would be eager to make a mark where he was targeted for that dropped catch and bowling at the death overs.

Vikram Rathour on Arshdeep Singh

India’s batting Coach Vikram Rathour was seen interacting with Reporters and was asked about Arshdeep Singh. “At this level, we are not really telling them anything. Arsh has been doing pretty well in IPL in the last 2-3 years and he has done well bowling in the death overs.

“We just support them to follow their plans, and strengths and they know where to bowl to each batter. They have their own plans, their own way of bowling to batters,” he said

As team management, we just have discussions to back their strengths and whatever the team plans are. No specific areas but for a young kid who has just come into international cricket, so far he has shown the temperament and composure to handle pressure and bowl well in difficult conditions.

“So, as far we are concerned, we are pretty happy with the way he is progressing,” said the batting coach.

South Africa A Tough Opponent

In June 2022, Proteas stunned Men in Blue by squaring the Series by 2-2. In that Series, the senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were not a part of it as they were given a rest. But defeating any Indian side is not an easy task by any means as India has a good pool of players.

Captain Rohit Sharma and Head Coach Rahul Dravid would be aware that now there should be no more problems for the team. A series loss would badly affect the team’s morale and South Africa have a habit of being the silent assassins as taking them lightly won’t be good for the Men in Blue.
