Virat Kohli, the former captain of India, has had a difficult time recently. Kohli’s quest for his 71st international century has already lasted more than two years, and while he has four international fifties so far this year, his inability to turn them into huge runs has been a source of concern.

Kohli started well in his 100th Test, but was bowled by Lasith Embuldeniya with a quick turn away from the right-hander that struck the stumps.

Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman, detailed Kohli’s bat problems and claimed that it really is important for the former India skipper to return to run-scoring.

“It’s important for him to have some runs on the board.” This terrible spell has lasted much too long. He has a fantastic opportunity here. People are worried about his century, but I believe he’ll get it at all in this Test somewhere in the next two or three games,” Latif Stated

“He had internal issues, lost his leadership, and fell out of favour.” The opposition is also exploiting his flaws, and they are dismissing him as planned.”

Rashid Latif discussed Virat Kohli’s weaknesses:

Kohli’s weakness, according to Latif, is that he bats with an open stance, which causes him to be far away from the ball while going for deliveries outside of the off-stump.

“Because they’re in a good patch, some players don’t trust in data.” It’s time for someone like him to start working as a data analyst. The problem is he’s an open posture and is chasing deliveries from the outside. “The opposition has worked to attack this weakness,” Latif added.

“He needs to cut down on the quantity of dot balls he uses. He needs to become more assertive. He must speed up his initial movement. With his open posture, he is further away from the ball. Being late is acceptable; but, being extremely late is dangerous.”

India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test begins on March 12 (Saturday) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. India defeated Sri Lanka in the 1st Test and now leads the series 1-0.
