Sri Lanka National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella was dismissed by spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Day 3 of the first Test match at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh, on Sunday, March 6.

Sri Lanka National Cricket Team were struggling on Day 3 when wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella came out to bat and he failed to help the team and got out after scoring just 2 runs off 10 balls.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma had kept two fielders for the sweep, the first one was at short fine and the other was well inside at deep square leg. Dickwella after missing a couple of sweep shots in the 61st over didn’t stop and went for the sweep again on the 4th ball just to get a top edge.

Indian middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer who was at mid-square leg was able to grab a good low catch to dismiss the Sri Lanka batter. In the 6th ball of the same over Jadeja was also able to dismiss Suranga Lakmal for a duck.

Sri Lanka Batters Struggle In Their First Innings vs India

Earlier, on Day 2 of the Test match, fans witnessed the ‘Ravindra Jadeja show’ as the senior all-rounder showed dominance and smashed an amazing unbeaten 175 runs and India ended up with 574 runs for 8 wickets.

Sri Lanka openers, while batting in the second innings, were unable to make any big contribution. Dimuth Karunaratne contributed only 28 runs off 71 balls and Lahiru Thirimanne scored 17 runs off 60 balls. Angelo Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva also failed to score big runs, Sri Lanka finished the day at 108/4 and they were trailing by 466 runs.

At the time of writing, Sri Lanka are at 173/8 with Pathum Nissanka battling against the Indian bowling unit.
