Rahul Tripathi has been on the outside of the team despite two excellent IPL seasons (397 and 413 runs, respectively). He claimed 14 wickets during the 2021–22 Vijay Hazare Trophy season with a meager economy rate of 3.77. He got his first-class debut in the 2018–19 season, and during that time, Yash had taken 30 wickets in the Ranji Trophy at an average of 24.70.

Hence, it is a matter of time before he makes his ODI debut and the series against Sri Lanka may be one where he gets the Indian cap.
