IND vs SL: CAC Selection Criteria - Beyond Rohit Sharma, Future Test Keeper, And The Next Star From The U-19 Pool

On Monday, the candidates for the position of selectors were interviewed by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which is led by Ashok Malhotra. Only those individuals who made the cut from the list of applicants were given an interview by the committee. Other CAC members include Sulakshana Naik and Jatin Paranjape.

The CAC seems interested in learning how the future Team India will be assembled. According to a report in PTI, the CAC reportedly sought to know the interviewee’s intentions when Rohit Sharma’s term is over. The CAC members also inquired as to if there was another player who may be considered for the wicketkeeping position instead of KS Bharat. Bharat is almost certain to play in his first Test match at the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Interview Session Completed By CAC, Selection Committee Members To Be Made Public Soon

The 2022 U-19 World Cup team may have one or more players who are qualified for international cricket, according to CAC. The junior squad, captained by Yash Dhull, defeated England in the championship match to capture the U-19 World Cup title.

The CAC has completed the interview session, and the BCCI will shortly make the selection committee members public. There is a potential that Chetan Sharma would continue in his role as a head selector. Additionally, Harvinder Singh could continue serving on the panel. The 2022 T20 World Cup’s underwhelming performance by Team India led to the removal of the Chetan-headed panel.
