Aakash Chopra believes India would outperform Sri Lanka in the next one-day international series Based on their batting strength.
The Men in Blue will face the Lankan Lions in three One-Day Internationals, the first of which will be played on Tuesday, January 10 in Guwahati. After missing the previous T20I series against the same opponents, the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer are back in the mix.

Aakash Chopra issued a caution to the visitors in a video previewing the first ODI that was posted to his YouTube account, saying:
“Sri Lanka will have to compete a little harder in ODIs because the gap between the two teams grows wider as the format expands. So that’s a bit of a dilemma for Sri Lanka because India’s batting might be able to drown out the opposition, despite the fact that we just lost the series in Bangladesh.”

In their most recent ODI series, India lost to Bangladesh 2-1. Before Ishan Kishan’s blazing double century and Virat Kohli’s supporting century helped the visitors claim a consolation victory in Chattogram, their hitters battled in the previous two games in Mirpur.

Aakash Chopra admitted that Dasun Shanaka and company could surprise him, saying:
“Selection will be challenging for Sri Lanka as well. Their starting XI will likewise be difficult to form. They have a good team. They also demonstrated in T20Is that their team is not awful.”
“The Guwahati pitch normally aids quick bowlers in nighttime games, yet 200-odd runs were scored there in the most recent T20I against South Africa. I recall 300-plus runs being made in one ODI as well. So I believe it will be a 300-325 pitch, and bowlers will be struck reasonably well. May the best team win, and Team India is the best team” Aakash Chopra Added.
The three ODIs between India and Sri Lanka will be played on January 10 (Guwahati), January 12 (Kolkata), and January 15 (Thiruvananthapuram).
