IND vs SL: India Squad for Sri Lanka ODIs Announced, Rohit Sharma Back As Captain. The BCCI, on Tuesday, announced India’s white-ball squads for the upcoming Sri Lanka ODI and T20I series. While Hardik Pandya will be leading the T20I side, Rohit Sharma will be back in the ODIs.

Rohit Sharma got injured in the 2nd ODI of the Bangladesh series and was ruled out of the final ODI of the series and the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. KL Rahul led the side in his absence in Bangladesh wherein team India won the final ODI and the two Tests.

The Men in Blue’s road to the 2023 ODI World Cup will kickstart with the series against Sri Lanka. Team India will be playing a three-match T20I series, followed by a 3-match ODI series. The T20I series will commence on January 03, 2023, with the ODI beginning on January 10, 2023.

Senior Indian Players To Remain Under Scrutiny

As per reports, some senior Indian players, including the likes of KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be under heavy scrutiny in terms of their performance. With multiple options having already performed well on the international stage, the new selection committee might look for an overhaul of the Indian ODI team ahead of the World Cup if senior players don’t perform.
