Shubman Gill will need to succeed in the third Twenty20 international match against Sri Lanka, as per Aakash Chopra, because most people are against his starting for India in the shortest version of the game.
In the second T20I, contested in Pune on January 5, Gill hit a clumsy shot and was out for just five runs. Before being caught behind the wickets while attempting a cross-batted shot against Maheesh Theekshana in the opening game of the three-match series, the opener scored just seven runs.

Aakash Chopra provided a preview of the third T20I, which will take place in Rajkot on Saturday, January 7, in a video posted to his YouTube channel. He emphasized the significance of the game to Gill by saying:
“The batting order hasn’t changed in my opinion. Shubman Gill is playing in a game that is of the utmost importance. Although he has only played in two T20Is, no career-defining inning has yet occurred, and the general consensus does not slightly favor him.”
“Rahul Tripathi is getting a chance at No.3”: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra elaborates that he believes Rahul Tripathi will need to play a significant knock for the Men in Blue to win:
“Rahul Tripathi has been moved to No. 3. He is getting it in this series, but if Kohli, Rohit, and KL Rahul return, he will not get it in the next one. I know it’s a little harsh, but it’s just his second match for India, so he’ll have to make the most of this opportunity” Aakash Chopra said.
On Saturday in Rajkot, there will be the third Twenty20 International between India and Sri Lanka. With one game remaining in the series, both sides have won one game each thus far.
After dropping the first game of the series, Sri Lanka made a comeback. The second game was won by them by 16 runs.
