Dasun Shanaka, the captain of Sri Lanka, said on Monday that he intends to build on his team’s narrow battle over India in the T20 series and give it his entire effort in the three-match ODI series, which begins on Tuesday in Guwahati.
Sri Lanka almost won the first T20I, but ultimately fell short by two runs. In the second T20I, which was played in Pune, they defeated India by 16 runs. Suryakumar Yadav earned the home team a 2-1 victory in the decisive game of the series in Rajkot with a valiant hundred.

Important Tournament For All Sri Lankans: Dasun Shanaka
“None of the teams in the recent past except for South Africa have won in India. Even we gave a good fight in Mumbai. But they came stronger, we need to play competitive cricket,” Shanaka said on the eve of the ODI series.
He continued by emphasizing the necessity to rise to the challenge.: “It’s an important tournament for all Sri Lankans because the World Cup is going to be held here in India, so looking forward to this series.”

“It’s a very good preparation, the conditions would be similar. The boys are ready for that, they know the importance of this tournament.”
Dasun Shanaka Expecting A High-scoring Game
In the T20I series, the Sri Lankan captain led all scorers with 124 runs at a strike rate of 187.87.
“Before coming here, I really wanted to do well, and practiced more, it’s very important to play well in India.”
The Lankan captain predicts a high-scoring contest.
“We have seen the deck and it appears to be a high-scoring game.”
A question about how Shanaka plans to halt the hot Indian batter was posed to him as he was still in shock following Suryakumar’s onslaught.
“This is a familiar question for all the captains. Suryakumar is a 360-player with the form he’s in. It’s about bowling in the right areas and executing your plans well.”
