India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first against Sri Lanka in the third and final One-Day International on Sunday. India has rested Hardik Pandya and Umran Malik and has replaced them with Suryakumar Yadav and Washington Sundar.
In the third and final ODI of the series, Rohit Sharma’s Team India hopes to sweep Dasun Shanaka’s, Sri Lanka.

Suryakumar scored the most runs in India’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka earlier this month. In three games, the right-handed hitter scored 170 runs, including a century and a fifty.
With his undefeated 112-run knock in the series finale, he wowed the crowd. However, he did not make the starting XI for the Men in Blue in the first two games of the ongoing 50-over series.

Playing 3 spinners & no backup bowler.. yet choose to bat first with chance of dew at night..
Even in 1st 2 ODIs, spinners bowled well during 1st innings & fast bowlers bowled better in 2nd innings..
May be Rohit is looking to challenge themselves— Indian Cricket Fan (@IndCricketFan) January 15, 2023
Good chance to test Shreyas & Surya as part time bowlers.

The batting lineup’s superstars, including skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, returned to the squad after Hardik Pandya led a young Indian team against the same opposition in the T20I series.

Virat Kohli hit another century in the opening ODI, making it his third consecutive century in the format after scoring one in the December 2022 ODI series against Bangladesh. Rohit produced a ferocious 83 with numerous shots, leaving supporters wondering if ‘vintage’ Sharma is back. KL Rahul batted bravely in the second ODI when Sri Lanka was knocking on the door and wickets were falling from the other end.
