Virat Kohli scored his 46th ODI century in the series finale of a three-match series against Sri Lanka on January 15 in Thiruvananthapuram, demonstrating that his desire and efficiency, are back. In the year of the ODI World Cup, Kohli set a benchmark by reaching the milestone in just 85 balls.

In Bangladesh in December 2022, Virat Kohli broke a three-year streak without scoring a hundred in an ODI, and he hasn’t looked back since. In the opening ODI of the three-match series versus Sri Lanka in Guwahati earlier in January, Kohli scored 113 runs. For the second time in his career, Kohli missed a hat-trick of ODI hundreds when he was dismissed for just 4 in the second ODI.

Virat Kohli Becomes First Ever Batsman To Hit 10 Centuries Against A Single Team In ODIs

In addition to this, in domestic ODIs of international cricket, the former skipper surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record for most ODI hundreds.

Tendulkar had 20 home hundreds in 164 games, while Kohli reached the milestone in his 105th ODI at home.
25 of Kohli’s hundreds have come away from home, compared to 21 at home.

While he was dropped on 52 and 81 in the first ODI, which led to his 45th ODI hundred, luck was on his side, the century in Thiruvananthapuram was inevitable since the former captain overpowered the Sri Lankan bowling attack.

The T20I series versus New Zealand did not include Kohli, but the ODI series, which begins on January 18, will feature the former captain.
