Sri Lankan Cricket Team is all set to clash against the mighty Indian Cricket for the 3 T20I match series starting from 3rd January (Tuesday). The Island nation doesn’t have a promising record in India where they are yet to win a T20I Series. Skipper Dasun Shanaka will have a strenuous task on his hands.

BCCI has taken a great initiative as now the players would be monitored during the IPL tournament. This decision may have come due to a string of injuries to the players in the recent past which has hampered the team’s chances at the ICC tournaments.

Danish Kaneria on Indian Cricket & Pakistan Cricket

Danish Kaneria was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and made some interesting comments on Indian Cricket. “I am sure there are sensible people in the IPL franchises who will endorse this idea of managing the workload of their players and will co-operate with the BCCI and NCA to put Indian cricket as their first priority. You won’t see these things in Pakistan because all want to play PSL and country has become a secondary thing.” said Danish Kaneria.

“The franchises being on the same page with BCCI is very important as we saw how injuries to Bumrah and Jadeja affected India last year. Rohit is also often injured. On top of this, if they also lose other key players like Virat and Suryakumar Yadav to injuries then they will be in huge trouble. So it’s good that the BCCI have realized that they need to preserve their key players.” he added.

Steep Road Ahead for Sri Lanka

The Island nation would be well aware of the fact that they cannot take India lightly evenly if the squad is a second-string one. The Men in Blue have got powerful hitters present in the form of Suryakumar Yadav & Hardik Pandya who can take the game away in a couple of overs.

It would be interesting to see whether Hardik Pandya promotes himself up the order as he is someone who can hold one end and later unleash the attack on the opposition. India should not make the mistake of taking Sri Lanka lightly as we all witnessed how Sri Lanka thrashed India in the Asia Cup 2022.
