Ashes 2021-22: Watch – Rory Burns And Haseeb Hameed Bat On One Leg In A Practice Session Ahead Of MCG Test

Out of form England opening batters Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed were seen batting on one leg in a practice session ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Joe Root-led England National Cricket Team after losing the Ashes 2021-22 opener against Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team by 9 wickets at the Gabba, lost the second game of the series by 275 runs at the Adelaide Oval against Steve Smith-led side and now the visitors are down 2-0 in the 5-match Test series.

Burns and Hameed both performed extremely poor in both the games against Australia in the marquee Ashes and have faced heavy criticism. Burns was dismissed on a golden duck in the first innings at the Gabba and scored 13 runs in the second innings. Hameed in the first innings at the Gabba scored 25 runs and in the second innings, he scored 27 runs.

Meanwhile, in the Adelaide Test, Burns and Hameed scored 4 and 6 runs in the first innings and 34 and 0 in the second innings respectively. Overall, Rory Burns has scored runs at an average of 12.75, and Haseeb Hameed has scored runs at an average of 14.50.

Meanwhile, Burns and Hameed were involved in a unique & extreme training session ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia which will begin on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

According to Cricbuzz’s Bharat Sundaresan, the English openers in an effort to improve their weight transfer and balance were made to bat on one leg by England assistant coach Ant Botha. Also, it was revealed that the 24-year-old Hameed was batting with just one hand and on one leg for a brief period at nets.
